We are the youth! Our activities are on going!

February is observed as "Black History Month" in America. It was created by Dr. Carter G. Woodson in 1926 and observed on the second week of February.

A staunched Republican, Woodson chose that week in that month to honor the birthdays of Fredrick Douflass and Abraham Lincoln.

Black History Month is designed to recognize history, experiences and accomplishments of black people.

In schools across the US, students learn about what figures such as Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, and many others achieved.

In the UK, Black History Month, celebrated since 1987, is held in October rather than February.

The UK version not only recognizes the contributions of those from African and Caribbean heritage, but those from Asia too.
